Sad to read of the death of Gordon Hutchison. His newsletters were a "must read" in my years with DOC and I always found his articles well researched and fair.

Gordon Douglas Hutchison

23 July 1942 - 25 March 2016

 

Gordon Hutchison left us on Friday, March 25, 2016 to rest with his parents Betty, William Wallace, sisters Elizabeth and Barbara.

 

He is loved and missed by his wife Leslie Coxall, her children Richard (Marlisa) and Michelle (Brodie), his first wife Anne Mimee (Tom), her children Edward and Ame (Carl), his brother Fred (Lorna), grandchildren Helen, Jasper, Bishop, Alice, Madeleine, Morgan and William and many nieces and nephews.

 

He was the founder and publisher of Evert Communications producing newsletters for the high tech industry such as Canadian Communications Network Letter, the Electronics Communicator, Report on Wireless and Research Money.

 

He was an active Scout leader and trainer and a member of Ashlar and Ionic Lodges and several appendant orders, St. Justine's Conclave and a G.R. Chapter officer in Quebec.

 

Thank you to the many medical and nursing staff at the OGH Campus, Civic Campus, Irving Greenberg Cancer Centre and Queensway Carleton for the excellent care over the past two years.

 

A Masonic Memorial Service will be held at 7:00 p.m. Thursday, March 31 at Westboro Temple, 430 Churchill Ave at Byron. Burial will be with his family in St. Catharine's.

 

In lieu of flowers, donations to the Ottawa Heart Institute and www.prostatecancer.ca are welcomed. Condolences and donations may be made at  www.tubmanfuneralhomes.com
