Sad News from Winnipeg

Co-worker Bruce Bakun of IMB asked Argus to tell readers the sad new that his uncle, Ken Stratichuk  (who just retired from the Department last year), passed away on September 12th, 1995. He was only 56.

Ken lived in Winnipeg most of his life and first worked at the Winnipeg Free Press. He vas hired by the Department of Communications in 1973 as a Radio Inspector. During the 21 years until his retirement. Ken enriched the lives of many with his sense of humour and extensive knowledge in so many fields.

He is remembered as a very modest individual who gave 110% to everything he did from his passion for Corvettes to his talent in woodworking. A member of the Woodcarving Society, he won many awards. Nephew Bruce let us borrow a photo showing Ken Stratichuk with a wooden sled lovingly made for his grandnephew for Christmas.

In Ken's memory, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Children's Wish Foundation.
