Anita Szlazak, director-general of the International Telecommunications Branch, has been named a commissioner of the Public Service Commission... Ken Wyman, director-general of Economic Policy and Statistics, has left the department to become director­general of Intermodal Freight at the Ministry of Transport... John Gilbert has returned to the department from the Indian Claims Commission to become acting director, Spectrum and Terminal Systems Policy, in the National Telecommunications Branch... Monique Pelland has been seconded from the Communications Research Centre to the office of the senior assistant deputy minister as co-ordinator and special advisor... Nisar Ahmed has been appointed director, Special Projects, in the Research sector... Jacques Marcotte has been named secretary to the Interdepartmental Committee on Space. He was the senior staff officer in the Space Technology branch... Annie Barrette is here on assignment from the Language Bureau as chief of Language Services in the Bilingualism Programs Branch.

Atlantic Region: James Cullen from the Moncton district office has been appointed regional superintendent, Licensing and Authorization... Maurice Numas from Central Region now is regional superintendent, Enforcement... Darius Breau has transferred from the Department of National Revenue office in Saint John, N.B., to the department as regional advisor, Finance... Fraser Forsythe from the New Brunswick Telephone Co. has joined the regional office in Moncton as a communications systems analyst... Barry Romkey from Maritime Telephone and Telegraph is now with the Halifax district office as a telecommunications systems consultant... Edith Jane Palmer, formerly with the Newfoundland Telephone Co., has joined the St. John's, Nfld., district office as telecommunications systems manager... Otis Mosher, chief of enforcement at the Atlantic regional office in Moncton, has retired after 35 years of service... John O'Reilly, district manager in Halifax, has retired after 33 years... Donald Courcy has returned to the Atlantic Region after two years away in the Quebec Region. He has resumed his old job of Radio Inspector at the Sydney, Nova Scotia office on Cape Breton Island.

Jean Richard Laurence, social economic advisor in the regional office, left the department to return to school... Monique Gourdeau, a telephone operator in Quebec district office, has retired after 35 years of service.

Central Region: Ted Weins, a radio technician, retired in December 1975 after 32 years in the public service... Two new radio inspectors have joined the Regina district office: Arthur Edge, from the Department of Indian and Northern Affairs in Fort Smith, and Roy Phillips, formerly with Motorola in Calgary... Gerry Morgan has been named regional manager for GTA in Winnipeg... Gary Winsnes has been selected as supervisor of Authorization, Regina district office... Yvette Creft has been appointed information analyst at the Winnipeg regional office... Leith Shearer, formerly assistant superintendent of GTA in the Central regional office, has gone to Saskatoon as GTA area manager for Saskatchewan.

Pacific Region: John Howard from the Department of Supply and Services has joined the staff at the regional office in Vancouver... Harry Lathwell, regional superintendent of radio regulations, and Fred Keller, regional radio inspector, have retired after 35 years of service.

Jacques Marcotte a été nommé secrétaire du Comité interministériel sur l'espace. Il était attaché de direction à la Direction de la technologie spatiale... Annie Barrette a été affectée à notre Ministère par le Bureau des langues. Elle occupe maintenant le poste de chef, Services linguistiques, Direction des programmes de bilinguisme.

Jean-Richard Laurence, conseiller en questions socio-économiques au bureau régional, a quitté le Ministère pour retourner aux études... Monique Goudreau, téléphoniste du bureau de district de Québec, a pris sa retraite après 35 ans de service.

Région du Centre: Ted Wiens, technicien en radiocommunications, a pris sa retraite en décembre 1975, après 32 ans de service... Deux nouveaux inspecteurs radio font maintenant partie de l'effectif du bureau de district de Regina : Arthur Edge, qui était à l'emploi du ministère des Affaires indiennes et du Nord à Fort Smith, et Roy Phillips, ancien employé de la Motorola à Calgary... Central Region: W.A.R. Johnston returned as regional director after a year on the department's bicultural exchange program in Quebec City... R.S. Meldrum, former chief of finance and administration, is now with the Department of Supply and Services in Ottawa... His replacement is Terrence Tebb, formerly with the Department of Indian and Northern  Affairs in Alberta... Phil Rubin, an engineer on an industrial exchange program, has returned to the Manitoba Telephone System... A.S. Northam has moved from the Calgary  district office to the enforcement  section in the Operations Branch of the Winnipeg regional office.                   

Ontario Region: Gin Janghas joined the systems operations staff  in the Government Telecommunications Agency (GTA) as development officer... Sal Dibiasio has joined the systems consulting staff in GRA as supervisor of that division.                    

Headquarters: Robert Rabinovitch, former director general of the Social Policy and Programs Branch, has joined the Privy Council Office  as assistant secretary of social policy... Ken Stein, Policy Secretariat director, is acting director general... James L. Dugan, former assistant director of the Bureau of Management Consulting in DSS, has joined the department as director general of Financial Planning and Program Review... Harold Palmer, former program officer at Treasury Board, has joined the department as assistant general manager in GTA... Rob Gordon, director general of the Federal Provincial Relations Branch has left the department for the Treasury Board... Gabriel Warren, from the Legal Operation Division at External Affairs, has joined the department as director general of the International Telecommunications Branch... Ray Marchand has been named director, Rural Communications. He was science councillor at the Canadian embassy in Paris... Phil Roger, an economist in the Telecommunication Economics section of the National Telecommunications Branch, has left DOC to work in the Ministry of Transport... Jane Gill, a personnel officer at CRC, has left the department to move to Niagara Falls... Marc Labrie, an administrative trainee, has joined the department as a personnel officer at CRC... René Guindon, manager of the Applications Development Division in GTA, is in Toronto for a year on the bicultural development program... John Arkalian, former chief of northern Network Plans and Policy in the National Telecommunications branch, now is assistant director, Industrial Structure and Services, in the same branch... Diana Trafford, former editor of /n Search, the Canadian Communications Quarterly magazine, is taking educational leave to pursue a Master's degree in Canadian studies at Carleton University... David Wright is acting editor... Suzanne Isabelle, who was a secretary in Information Services, has become an administrative officer in Directory Systems in the GTA... Rachel Ouellette, who was a receptionist in Information Services, now is a clerk in the Bilingualism Programs Branch.
