25 years of service

On October 21, 1983, the Atlantic Region paid tribute to four employees who celebrated 25 years with the Public Service of Canada. In the presence of Regional Director Micheline Chase, Assistant Director Réal Valiquette, presented long service plaques to Ronald Wilcox, the District Manager in St. John's, Nfld.; Keith Prescott, a broadcast systems technologist and Thérèse LeBlanc, technical services clerk, at the Moncton Regional Office; and Howard Blaxland, radio regulations inspector in Charlottetown.

Ronald Wilcox, who joined the Department of Communications in 1969, held several positions in Alberta before transferring to Saint John, N.B., Corner Brook, Nfld. and finally to his native St. John's, Nfld.

Keith Prescott accepted a radio inspector position with the Thunder Bay office of the Department of Communications in 1969. In 1975, the Atlantic Region welcomed him as District Manager in Sydney, N.S. He was subsequently appointed District Manager in Charlottetown, and in 1980, standards enforcement officer at the regional office. He was recently appointed to the technical services section.

In 1973, Howard Blaxland joined the DOC district office in Saint John, N.B. as a radio regulations inspector. He has since been assigned to various district offices including Halifax and Charlottetown.

In 1969, Thérèse LeBlanc accepted an appointment to the DOC Atlantic office. There she held a number of positions including secretary to the first Regional Director, Atlantic Region. She subsequently became the secretary to the Chief, Operations. Since 1981, she has acted as the clerk for Technical Services under the supervision of the Regional Manager, Engineering.

Le 21 octobre 1983, la région de l'Atlantique a rendu hommage à quatre de ses employés à l'occasion de leur 25e anniversaire de service au sein de la Fonction publique du Canada. Sous la présidence du directeur régional Micheline Chase, le directeur adjoint, M. Réal Valiquette, a présenté des plaques à M. Ronald Wilcox, gérant de district à St-John's (T.-N.), à M. Keith Prescott, technologue des systèmes de radiodiffusion, et à Mme Thérèse LeBlanc, commis des services techniques, tous deux au bureau régional de Moncton, ainsi qu'à M. Howard BlaxIand, inspecteur des règlements sur la radio à Charlottetown.

M. Ronald Wilcox s'est joint au ministère des Communications en 1969. II a occupé divers postes en Alberta pour ensuite s'installer à Saint-Jean (N.-B.), à Corner Brook et dans sa ville natale de St-John's (T.-N.).

 M. Keith Prescott accédait en 1969 à un poste d'inspecteur radio au bureau de Thunder Bay du ministère des Communications. En 1975, la région de l'Atlantique l'accueillait à titre de gérant de district à Sydney (N.-É.). Par la suite, il a été nommé gérant de district à Charlottetown (I.-P.-É.) et, en 1980, agent des normes, application des règlements, au bureau régional. Récemment, il a accepté un poste à la section des services techniques.

 En 1973, M. Howard BlaxIand se joignait au bureau de district de Saint-Jean (N.-B.) du ministère des Communications à titre d'inspecteur des règlements sur la radio, d'où il a été affecté à divers bureaux de district, notamment à Halifax et à Charlottetown.

En juillet 1969, Mme Thérèse LeBlanc acceptait une nomination au bureau régional du ministère des Communications, où elle a occupé plusieurs postes, entre autres celui de secrétaire du premier Directeur régional de l'Atlantique. Mme LeBlanc est ensuite devenue secrétaire du chef de l'exploitation jusqu'en 1981. Depuis lors, elle est commis des services techniques sous la direction du gestionnaire régional de la section du génie.
