Employee Profile - Stanley Dzuba

There are as many ways to spend our leisure time "after five," as there are employees.

Stanley Dzuba is the Regional Broad­cast Engineer with the Pacific Region office who has a proven talent for maximizing his free time for the benefit of people around him.

In our December 1985 issue, we announced that Stanley had been invested as an officer in the Military Order of St. Lazarus for outstanding service to his country.

Recently, in recognition of his outstanding service to his community, Stanley was appointed as a Knight of Honor in the Sovereign Order of St. John by Prince Andrew of Yugoslavia (Patron of the Order) in a special ceremony held in Vancouver.

When not attending meetings with the Militia, the Sculpture Society, or several other community organizations, or hiking or skiing, Stanley can be found working on his latest sculpture. "Sculpting is good therapy after spending eight hours in the office," he says.

Stanley is planning to retire from the public service next year, but he won't be quitting work. "There is a group called the Canadian Executive Service Organization which sponsors projects in developing countries. I am going to try that out for a while," he says.

Il y a tout autant de façon d'occuper ses loisirs après les heures de travail qu'il y a d'employés.

Stanley Dzuba, technicien en radiodiffusion au bureau régional du Pacifique, s'est révélé doué pour tirer le maximum de son temps libre à agir dans l'intérêt des gens qui l'entourent.

Dans notre numéro de décembre 1985, nous annoncions que M. Dzuba avait été investi Officier de l'Ordre militaire de St-Lazare pour services insignes à son pays.

Dernièrement, en reconnaissance des services éminents qu'il a rendus à la collectivité, Stanley Dzuba a été nommé Chevalier d'honneur de l'Ordre souverain de St-jean par le prince André de Yougoslavie, patron de l'Ordre, à l'occasion d'une cérémonie spéciale tenue à Vancouver.

Lorsqu'il n'assiste pas à des réunions de la milice, de la Société des sculpteurs ou de plusieurs autres organismes communautaires, ou encore lorsqu'il n'est pas en randonnée pédestre ou en ski, Stanley Dzuba travaille à ses dernières créations sculpturales. « Après avoir passé huit heures au bureau, la sculpture constitue une bonne thérapie », dit-il.

M. Dzuba se propose de prendre sa retraite de la Fonction publique l'an prochain, mais il n'abandonne pas pour autant le travail : « Il existe un organisme qui s'appelle le Service administratif canadien outre-mer qui parraine des projets dans les pays en voie de développement. J'ai l'intention de regarder de ce côté pendant quelque temps. »
